If you are on a budget and are looking for a fully featured supplier who can offer you phone, broadband and TV with no long contracts and flexibility as you go then NOW is perfect for you.

They offer a wide range of packages to suit every budget and feature requirement.

NOW offers a wide range of broadband types, from basic ADSL broadband which offers very low (by today’s standards) speeds to FTTC broadband (also known as Superfast broadband).

NOW doesn't currently offer full fibre optic (also known as Ultrafast broadband).

As they are backed by Sky, one of the UK’s biggest broadband suppliers then you can be rest assured that they are unlikely to go out of business and leave you in limbo.

Their deals are very well priced in the market.

You can bundle in broadband, TV and phone for good discounts.

The flexibility of short contracts and TV passes are their standout feature.

Their TV packages don’t have a set top box so you can’t pause and record live TV  like you can with those from Sky and Virgin Media.

They don’t offer full fibre (ultrafast) broadband deals.

In the 2022 Ofcom Customer Service report NOW were classed as too small a supplier to be ranked in detail.

However their parent company Sky was ranked well and we expect that NOW will adhere to similar standards.

Data does show that their average call waiting time was only 31 seconds compared to the average supplier wait time of 2 minutes 16 seconds, so that’s another good indicator.

As NOW offers such a wide variety of deals using a number of different broadband technologies then the speeds they offer also vary a great deal.

At the top end they offer 63Mbps+ with their fastest FTTC services.

If you are one of the very few people in the UK who can only get very basic ADSL broadband services then you can expect average speeds as low as 11Mbps, not great, but adequate for most people.

Set up will depend on a few factors:

• Whether you are moving to a new property
• If your property already has the correct type of line installed. If you don’t have the right line already then you’ll need an engineer to visit to install it.

It usually takes 1-2 weeks for new customers to get setup. Existing customers switching to a new deal may find it will only take a day or two to switch.

This will depend on the type of broadband you can get at your property.

If you choose, or are only able to get, older types of broadband such as ADSL or FTTC then you will also need a phone landline as well, as these types of broadband rely on the copper cable phone line to operate. However all NOW deals that require a landline come with the cost of iit included in the price.

NOW have a smaller selection of deals which are primarily different in the speeds that they offer.

Each of these deals is available on 1 month rolling contracts with a higher setup fee, or 12 month contract with a much smaller setup fee

All deals are broadband and phone line only, you get TV on a pay as you go basis by purchasing TV passes as and when you want them.

NOW do offer special discounted packages for people in receipt of certain benefits who are  new or existing NOW customers who are struggling with their bills.

If you receive any of the following benefits:

• Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
• Income Support
• Pension Credit
• Universal Credit
• Income-based Employment & Support Allowance

then you will be eligible, you will need to contact NOW customer services if you are eligible and how to move your existing NOW Broadband connection to the social tariff.

All NOW Broadband deals allow you to purchase TV passes for a range of Sky channels including all the Sport, Movie and Entertainment channels.

With TV passes you aren’t locked into long contracts, so you can pick, choose and cancel as you want and only be charged for when you want to add them.

NOW Broadband are owned by Sky.

NOW use the Openreach network which has the biggest geographical reach in the UK.

As such NOW Broadband is one of the most widely available UK broadband providers.

In 2023 the ‘One Touch Switch’ process launched in the UK. This makes the switching process between broadband suppliers incredibly simple and seamless.

All you need to do is sign up with NOW for a new service and they will handle the switch for you. 

There is no need to contact your old supplier, the transfer away from them and the canceling of your old contract will be handled for you automatically.

The time to switch will vary depending on what type of broadband you are switching from and to. 

You will be informed at the time of sign up what the estimated switch date will be.

NOW broadband contracts are a choice of rolling 1 month contracts that can be canceled at any time, or 12 month contracts.
